At the Convergence

October 5th – 8th

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum
700 North 12th Street
Wausau, WI 54403

Held in Conjunction with “Birds in Art 2017”

“At the Convergence” is more than an event.

It is an intentional gathering of outdoor artists, writers, and conservation scientists who celebrate and fight for the natural world.

We have a lot in common. Together we need to confront the forces that threaten the rich outdoor legacy which is ours.

We do this through art, writing, and conservation science.

The Woodson Art Museum welcomes writer and fisherman John Gierach, classic outdoor sporting artist, Bob White, photographer Mike Dvorak, forest ecologist Alan Haney, and conservation biologist Eric Anderson for a series of programs exploring intersections of the arts, humanities, and natural sciences in environmental stewardship. Through public presentations, art making, panel discussions, and gallery conversation, guest artists, authors, and scientists invite visitors to consider the varied ways to understand, appreciate, and protect the natural world. Wisconsin author, Victoria Houston will be with author John Gierach on Sunday, October 8.

Join us as we experience art, writing, and conservation uniting in celebrating the natural world through:

  • Art and Writing Workshops
  • Gallery Tours
  • Panel Discussions
  • Book readings and signings
  • Reception Saturday Night

No registration is necessary. Come any day and it’s always free thanks to the generous support of Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and the chapters of Wisconsin Trout Unlimited.
